Gömbe Plateau and Elmalı Wine Route Tour

This route combines the cool waters of Gömbe Plateau with Elmalı’s rich winemaking culture, offering one of Antalya’s most unique and high-altitude cultural tours. Escape the coastal heat and discover the nature of the Taurus Mountains at 2,000 meters, together with one of Anatolia’s oldest wine-growing regions.

Stop 1: Gömbe Plateau and Yeşilgöl

Located approximately 1.5 hours from Kaş, Gömbe is known as the “king of plateaus.”

Yeşilgöl

Located at the foothills of Akdağ (Uyluk Summit), at an altitude of approximately 1,900 meters above sea level, Yeşilgöl is a crater lake with emerald-green, icy-cold water.

Experience: The lake is generally reached by a short nature hike from above Çukurbağ Village. It is a unique spot for photography enthusiasts.

Stop 2: Uçarsu Waterfall

Located very close to Yeşilgöl, this waterfall appears to flow by “flying” among the rocks and is considered the spiritual symbol of the region.

Legend and Culture

The waterfall is associated with the legend of Abdal Musa, which holds an important place in Alevi-Bektashi culture. It is believed that the direction of the waterfall’s flow changes seasonally, and it is visited by thousands of people every year.

Atmosphere

The cool air and the soothing sound of the water provide incredible refreshment in the summer heat.

Stop 3: Elmalı and Wine Tasting (Likya Vineyards)

In the afternoon, the tour continues to Elmalı, known as “Anatolia’s highland town,” which maintains a winemaking tradition dating back to the Lycian period.

Lycian Wine Route

One of the most famous stops is Likya Wines (Likya Vineyards), where you can taste award-winning wines made from grapes grown at an altitude of 1,100 meters.

Special Grapes

We recommend tasting the wine made from Acıkara grapes, a rare local variety that was once nearly facing extinction and has since been revived.

Tasting Experience

Wine tastings among the vineyards at sunset, accompanied by cheese platters, are among the most enjoyable moments of the tour.

09.00 – Departure from Kaş / Kalkan or Antalya city center

11.00 – Arrival at Gömbe Plateau and ascent to Yeşilgöl by off-road vehicles

12.00 – Visit to Uçarsu Waterfall and nature walk

13.30 – Lunch in Gömbe: famous Gömbe Kebab (pit-roasted kebab)

15.30 – Transfer to Elmalı center; visit to historic houses and the museum

17.00 – Wine tasting and vineyard tour at Likya Vineyards

19.00 – Return journey

Tips

Weather: While the coast swelters at 35–40°C, Gömbe offers a refreshing escape with temperatures around 20–25°C.
