We begin the walk by heading east from Kaş toward Büyükçakıl Beach. After leaving the town center, we follow the asphalt road, pass Büyükçakıl, and then take the trail on the right that climbs uphill and is marked with the red-and-yellow Lycian Way signs.
We start from Kaş center and head in the direction of Büyükçakıl Beach. After passing Büyükçakıl, we follow the uphill trail on the right with the red-and-yellow Lycian Way markings.
You can see ancient tombs carved into the rocks along the route. Great spots to take a break and enjoy the view.
On your right, the endless Mediterranean Sea and the island of Meis (Kastellorizo) directly across.
You walk through Mediterranean shrubland, accompanied by the scents of sage and thyme.
Do not attempt this in flip-flops. Non-slip sports shoes or hiking boots are essential.
Most of the route is under the sun. Bring at least 1.5 liters of water, and start either early in the morning (around 08:00) or after 16:00 in the afternoon.
At the end of the route, a path that gently descends toward the sea will lead you to the businesses in the bay (Nuri’s Beach, Bilal’in Yeri, etc.). The water here is crystal clear, and you often have a good chance of spotting sea turtles (Caretta caretta).
